What We Believe

There are many beliefs that are held within the Christian faith, and there are many points of disagreement.

We are Christian.

Across the spectrum of faith there are many paths. The Bible, however, is clear that there is one way we are saved and that is through faith in Jesus Christ. (John 14:6) We believe that the church is comprised of people who share this faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. As members of the family of God we share the same mission: to bring honor and glory to the Lord. As such, the church does not exist for itself, we are here to serve others by living the lives Jesus has purposed for us to live, being his hands, feet, and voice to share God’s love with the world.

While there are varied traditions in the Christian faith that groups identify with, we are an independent church comprised of people from across the spectrum of Christ followers. The only prayer Jesus prayed that we can answer is that of unity within the Body of Christ (John 17:21). We will do all that we can to promote that unity without sacrificing an ounce of Scriptural truth to do it.

Specifically we are a Christian > protestant > evangelical > independent church.

“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity.”

We Believe in God.

There is one God who is the loving Creator of all that exists, both seen and unseen. God is eternal and completely good, knowing all things, having all power and majesty. We believe God exists eternally in perfect co-equal community as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus.

This is exciting! Jesus Christ is the Messiah! He is the Savior sent of God to be the sacrifice to cover the sins for all mankind. He was born of the Virgin Mary, and is the perfect reflection of God’s heart, character, and love for people. He lived a perfect life and died a perfect death and then after three days was raised again to perfection, that we might be restored in relationship to God! Through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord we are forgiven of our sins, brought into right relationship with God, and are granted eternal salvation.

Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14, 8:40,58, 11:33; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:8

We believe in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit guides us to the Cross of Salvation, leads us into righteous living, and empowers us to live lives that are set apart for God. Living a life that is pleasing to the Lord requires that we lay down our lives on a daily basis so that we might experience real Life in Him.

We believe in and accept the whole authority of Scripture

We believe that the entire Bible is fully inspired by God, that it is His perfect Word and as such, it is entirely trustworthy as our guide for truth, faith, life, marriage, and salvation. We hold a high view of the Scriptures and its authority in our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13; Psalm 19:7-11, 119:105Genesis 2:24; Proverbs 5:15-20; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 7

About the salvation of mankind:

We believe mankind was made in the image of God…

Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God. To know him and to be known by him. We were created by God for God and exist for His pleasure. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

Genesis 1:26-30, 2:7, 18-24, Psalms 8:3-6, Revelation 4:11

…but we are all broken…

We were created for an amazing relationship with God, but we became separated in that relationship through willful, sinful, disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort.

Genesis 3, Psalm 51:5, Isaiah 6:5, Jeremiah 17:5, Romans 3:10-18

…and we stay that way unless we place the whole of our faith and hope in Jesus Christ.

Even though we are separated by God from our sin, God in His great love sent Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sin. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus paved the way so that relationship can be restored. We believe that salvation is for “whosoever will” believe on Jesus and allow Him to be Lord over every aspect of their lives.

Psalm 32:1-5, 2 Chronicles 7:14 , Luke 13:3, John 3:16-17 , 1 John 1:9 , Acts 3:19 , Acts 17:30, Romans 5:6, Romans 10:9-11, 2 Peter 3:9

We believe God’s desire for us is to be wholly His.

God desires that we would be His in the totality of our being and He is committed to our growth and maturity in Him. We are to walk in the light as He is in the light as he provides it. Our call is to walk lock step with Him, and to live our lives in Him and by His command.

Leviticus 20:26, Matthew 16:24-25, Luke 9:23, John 15, Romans 6:6, 1 Peter 1:14-16, 2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 John 3:6-10, Ephesians 4, Hebrews 6:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:7

We believe the best is yet to come!

One day our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place. For those who are in Christ, this will lead to an eternal celebration in Heaven, and that those who willfully choose against Him will face eternal damnation in hell. Knowing that this breaks the heart of God, we are motivated to pack the party and depopulate the punishment. God’s best is the best, and the best is yet to come!
